Our BS, MS, MAE, and both PhD programs as well as ancillary awards such as minors, qualify for the Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) 45.0603, Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, a STEM CIP CODE. CIP codes are established by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.
CIP codes are used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to determine eligibility for the OPT STEM extensions. Our programs, which are all quantitative, fall under the CIP code 45.0603 which is an advantage for our international students, who will be able to get longer OPT periods.
