The Transportation Research Group at WSU is focused primarily on improving freight efficiency in our multi-modal transportation system, through economic research, accurate/timely information and analysis that addresses current and emerging freight transportation policy issues.  This includes the many complexities and interactions between freight transportation and:

  • Passenger travel behavior
  • Congestion management
  • Resiliency analysis
  • The environment
  • Port and Intermodal Competitiveness
  • Energy use and independence
  • Infrastructure maintenance and development
  • Infrastructure financing
  • Economic development/activity
