The IMPACT Center<\/strong> was established in 1985 to address issues important to the future of Washington agriculture.  In today\u2019s globalized world, maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of Washington agriculture is of primary importance to the State\u2019s economy, particularly in rural communities that rely heavily on the State\u2019s agricultural industries. IMPACT is well positioned to address these issues given the experience of its faculty and staff in working with agricultural industry representatives, its strategic location in the College of Agriculture, Human, and Natural Resources, the strong and positive presence of extension educators within the College, and the elevated prestige of WSU as an institution among agricultural stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDr. Eric Jessup: Director, Research Professor<\/a>\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\r\n\t\t\tEric Jessup is the Director of the Impact Center and the Freight Policy Transportation Institute at Washington State University He is research professor at the School of Economic Sciences and has a breadth of industry experience after spending two years as Vice President with the global commodities consulting firm Informa Economics, Inc., leading the Transportation, Industrials and Energy group. Prior to joining Informa, Dr. Jessup was Honorary Professor within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universit\u00e4t in Freiburg, Germany. His career has included both public and private sector experience in the U.S., Asia and Europe and he has successfully developed, obtained, and managed large collaborative research projects over the past 25 years.\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/article>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
